Orchestra practice

Students at the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles have the chance to participate in orchestra projects throughout the year, in two symphony classes, a harmony class and a string orchestra class. There are also additional concerts or specific programmes, such as the concert of the orchestral conducting class each December (for chamber orchestra), the charity concert in support of Conservamus, and student projects during the Courants d'airs festival. The Conservatoire orchestra also works with student-conductors for their exams in Master 1.

Working under the baton of Conservatoire professors, or invited conductors, students thus regularly come into contact with great works of music. Recent conductors (of all orchestras) include Guy Van Waas, Philippe Gérard, Raphael Bell, Bernard Delire, Charles Michiels, Pierre Quiriny, Benoît Chantry...
