Social service
 
The social service can intervene in a wide range of social matters (mutual insurance companies, family allowance funds, debt mediation, student grants, CPAS, etc.). This service is bound by a code of ethics and professional secrecy.
The social service is also a Welcome and Support Service for requests for support plans linked to inclusive education.
 
 
Missions
The social service's mission is to help students overcome the difficulties that may hinder their studies. The general aim of the service is to work with students to find the most appropriate solution to their needs.
The social service is: a place accessible to all; a place to receive support and assistance; a place to listen, to talk in complete confidentiality; a place to access information and guidance; and a player in prevention.
The social service also offers students who qualify for social assistance access to occasional jobs during the year at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.
On the basis of specific criteria, it grants financial support to students who request it. Application forms for social assistance are available from the social assistant during his office hours, or on request by e-mail.

Gender Contact Person (GCP)

The Gender Contact Person (GCP) is responsible for helping to develop a gender policy and for preventing discrimination and inequality within the school. More broadly, the GCP helps foster an inclusive and respectful learning and working environment that is mindful of inequalities and power dynamics. In addition, the GCP is available to address any questions, concerns, or requests for advice regarding these issues. The GCP can also provide support if you wish to develop a project, initiative, or discussion related to these issues within the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles.

M( )RCELLE SPACE

M( )RCELLE is a space for students from all backgrounds who face harassment, gender-based, sexual, and psychological violence, racism, and discrimination during their studies.

It is a space for listening, respect, legal advice, and social support, completely independent of academic authorities.

Services

Listening: We offer you a supportive listening experience in complete confidentiality, along with psychological support to help you put your experiences into words and make sense of them.

Support: If you wish, MARCELLE will support and guide you through any steps you’d like to take, to the best of our ability. We’re here to help you tap into your resources and make decisions that are right for you. A social worker can also assist you with social services: CPAS, health insurance, housing, student grants, or referrals to your school’s social services.

Advisor: MARCELLE helps you understand a range of information and resources so that you can make the right decisions with a clear understanding of what they entail. These resources may come from within your institution and/or from external sources. MARCELLE is staffed by an experienced legal professional specializing in higher education law who will be able to support and guide you.

Navigate: MARCELLE is also a space that gives you easier access to information.

Prevention: Beyond providing support, MARCELLE is also dedicated to actively promoting prevention, raising awareness, and providing training at all institutions of higher education.
