Sylvie Sténuit

Biographie

Sylvie Sténuit studied singing at the Royal Conservatory of Liège with Greta De Reyghere, whose assistant she was for three years. She also studied with Lena Lootens for several years.

Her experience ranges from early music (tours with the troupe Les menus plaisirs du Roy, collaboration with La Cetra d'Orfeo, etc.) to contemporary music (CD recording of melodies by Karel Goeyvaerts for the KUL, Messiaen concerts with pianist David Miller, collaboration with the Launeddas ensemble under the direction of Jean-Pierre Peuvion, and participation in the “d'Art d'Art” festival in Niort – France), as well as opera (Opéra–Studio de la Monnaie, performance based on The Marriage of Figaro).

One of her favorite repertoires being melody, she has worked closely with pianist Marie-Pascale De Coster on various programs (French melody, German lied, Rachmaninov).

A passionate teacher for many years in music academies, both in singing and vocal chamber music, she wants to use her experience to help future teachers develop their approach to the profession.
