Olivier Vrins

Biography

Olivier Vrins has been a solicitor at the Brussels law firm ALTIUS since 2000. Specialising in property law and art law, he holds a Master's degree in European law (University of Ghent) and international intellectual property law (University of London). He is a member of the Intellectual Property Council, an advisory body composed of experts appointed by the Minister for Economic Affairs.

A music lover, he also studied music theory, harmony and musical analysis, played the violin for ten years and sang in a choir for eight years before becoming its director for four years. A long-standing member of the editorial board of Crescendo Magazine, he is also an administrator of the Union de la Presse Musicale Belge and an expert in the ‘Classical Music’ section of the Music Commission of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. 

He is the author of various legal works and contributions, particularly in the field of copyright, and of a monograph on the Latvian composer Pēteris Vasks, published by Le Condottière.
