Maria Tarasewicz

Biography

Maria Tarasewicz is a chamber pianist, duo partner and teacher. She is committed to working with young artists and developing their potential. Her professional career, not only as a performer but also as a teacher and accompanist, has taken her to Norway, Belgium, France, Italy, Jersey, San Marino, Poland, China and numerous festivals and masterclasses in the United Kingdom. In recent years, Maria Tarasewicz has developed a unique coaching programme for strings at the Royal College of Music in London. She is now based in Belgium, where she accompanies and coaches instrumentalists and singers from all over the world. Maria Tarasewicz is currently an accompanist and teacher of piano as a secondary instrument at the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles, as well as an accompanist at the IMEP in Namur. 

Throughout her career, she has been inspired by wonderful artists whose influence has shaped the direction of her music. Among them are Ivry Gitlis, Maxim Vengerov, Marc Danel, Mark Messenger, Gavriel Lipkind, Vladimir Perlin, Leonid Gorokhov, Eugène and Olga Moguilevski, Iya Pavlova, Boyan Vodenitcharov, Michael Dussek and many others.

Maria Tarasewicz seeks artistic answers as co-founder of The Thinking Musician and is involved in awareness-raising projects with organisations such as BlindAid. Inevitably, in seeking answers, she only increases her questions.
