Adrien Tyberghein is a French double bass player and composer. Graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, he has collaborated with renowned ensembles such as the Opéra National de Paris and the Ensemble Intercontemporain. He has also played with renowned artists in both classical and jazz spheres (Ibrahim Maalouf, Manu Katché, Gautier Capuçon, Renaud Capuçon, Claire Désert, Olivier Charlier ...).
These projects led him to find his own path and devote himself mainly to solo double bass, chamber music and composition. He pushes the limits of his instrument in original and unsuspected ways, and performs numerous world premieres.
His tours have brought him into contact with a variety of cultures, inspiring him in his compositions and constantly feeding him in his improvisations.
Passionate about pedagogy, he is a double bass teacher at the Conservatoire royal de Musique de Bruxelles. His pedagogy focuses on releasing the artistic potential of each student, on technical mastery as a tool for creativity, and on understanding the interpretation styles of the solo and orchestral repertoire. He adapts to each student's morphology and teaches both "French" and "German" bow. He attaches great importance to the student's pedagogical project, and helps them to integrate into active life (orchestral competitions, international competitions, etc.).
You can find Adrien Tyberghein on stage in his Seul Contre Basse project, in solo recital, in Dyad or with Musiques Nouvelles ensemble.
Spotted by Ibrahim Maalouf, he is also a member of the Free Spirit Ensemble, the world's first classical orchestra specializing in improvisation.
France Musique describes him as a musician who "revives an obviously dusted-off classical universe. [His] intense personality provokes an unexpected cross-fertilization of cultures".
