Philippe Riga is a pianist, harpsichordist, and fortepianist.
He graduated from the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles and the Lemmens Luca Instituut in Leuven. He studied with renowned musicians such as Jos Van Immerseel, Christophe Rousset, and Helmut Deutsch.
He is a laureate of the Fondation Royaumont. In recital, he has accompanied many singers, including José Van Dam, Hélène Guilmette, Veronica Cangemi, and Jodie Devos. He has been the official accompanist for the Concours de chant Reine Elisabeth since 2011. He has collaborated on numerous productions with the Théâtre de la Monnaie, the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, the Festival de Radio-France in Montpellier, the Aldeburgh Festival, among others. He is currently a member of the faculty at the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth as a piano coach for the vocal section under the direction of José Van Dam, and also serves as professor of accompanying piano at the Conservatoire Royal de Musique de Bruxelles.
