Pierre began his musical studies at the Académie d’Anderlecht at the age of seven, taking percussion and piano lessons with Jean-Claude Wets and Osvaldo Salas. In 2001, he joined Louison Renault’s percussion class at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles (CRB), where he obtained a Master’s degree in percussion with great distinction in June 2007.
That same year, he joined the group Oxymore, which won the first prize at the Biennale de la Chanson Française the following year. Pierre performs regularly with the Orchestre National de Belgique and the Orchestre Symphonique de La Monnaie, as well as in chamber music ensembles, and he frequently performs abroad.
His interest in contemporary music led him, in 2008, to become the solo percussionist of the Ensemble Musiques Nouvelles. In March 2011, he joined the ECO (European Contemporary Orchestra), an innovative European ensemble with an unconventional setup. There he met percussionists Christian Bini and André Groen, with whom he founded the Hop!trio, a percussion trio dedicated to new music.
In September 2011, Pierre joined Philippe Gérard’s conducting class at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles. Six months later, he was appointed artistic director of the Société Royale d'Harmonie de Braine-l'Alleud. In June 2014, he earned a Master’s degree in orchestral conducting with distinction.
Increasingly invested in personal and independent projects, Pierre formed the ClapDuo with clarinetist Charles Michiels in the spring of 2015. In January 2016, he was invited to conduct the OSJB (Orchestre Symphonique des Jeunes de Bruxelles), where he is now the principal conductor. He was also appointed assistant conductor of the Ensemble Télémaque (Marseille) under Raoul Lay in February 2017.
In parallel, he teaches percussion and instrumental ensemble at the Académie de musique d’Anderlecht. At the CRB, he is assistant in Louison Renault’s percussion class and a professor of specialized pedagogy within the percussion teacher-training curriculum.
