Pieter Pellens trained at the conservatoires in Ghent, Milan and Vienna. He has won several national and international competitions: the Premio delle Arti in Rome (2011), Axion Classics Brussels (2006) and the Fidelio Wettbewerb Wien (2012).
Pieter Pellens has performed in most European countries, as well as in Japan, Taiwan, the USA, Thailand, Singapore and Chile. A versatile and creative musician, he is regularly invited to perform in concerts and on recordings with ensembles such as the Brussels Philharmonic, het Collectief, the Wiener Jeunesse Orchester, the La Monnaie Symphony Orchestra, the Filarmonica della Scala and the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.
He is often involved in interdisciplinary projects, and his collaborations include performances with artists from a variety of backgrounds. He is a member of the Blindman and Scarbo saxophone quartets.
Pieter Pellens also gives numerous masterclasses and workshops around the world. Passionate about teaching, he places great importance on passing on his experience and his passion for music. Since 2017, he has been an assistant saxophone teacher at the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles. Since 2022, he has been a saxophone teacher at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp
