A versatile percussionist trained in West African percussion at Mamady Keita's school in Belgium (+Guinea) and in Afro-Cuban rhythms (graduate of ISA, Instituto Superior de Arte, Havana, Cuba), Marc Maïkissa has extensive stage experience in various musical genres (Afro, Latin, jazz, world music, events, etc.).
With many years of experience as a percussionist for various African dance classes and workshops, he has had the honor of collaborating with iconic figures such as the ‘maestro’ Mamady Keita, Mama Adama Camara of the Guinea National Ballet, Jeanne Bagne from Congo, Ken Ndiaye from Senegal, and more specifically with Sidonie Madoki Ndandu, continually enriching his career in this field.
Marc Maïkissa is also involved in training courses and school projects focusing on socio-cultural issues, personal development, and integration, designing and facilitating the creation of sound and musical worlds. He is also responsible for the partnership between Banafro asbl and the Toubab Dialaw School (Senegal).
