Violinist Kerstin Hoelen was born in the Netherlands. She studied at the Conservatoire Royal de La Haye, successively with Qui van Woerdekom, Jaring Walta, and Isabelle van Keulen. After completing her studies, she obtained a permanent position with the Gelders Orkest. For many years, she was a regular substitute with the internationally renowned string orchestra Amsterdam Sinfonietta and frequently performed with various orchestras in the Netherlands and Belgium, including the Balletorkest, the Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest, the Brabants Orkest, and the Orchestre Symphonique de la Monnaie. She is currently a member of the orchestra Le Concert Olympique. Kerstin Hoelen is also a violin teacher and artistic coach of the string orchestra AKO-Junior at the Young Talents department of the Conservatoire Royal de La Haye (P.B.). Since 2007, she has been teaching violin at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles.
