Caridad Galindo Rueda

Biography

Born in Murcia, Spain, Caridad Galindo obtained her advanced diploma in piano from the Conservatoire Supérieur de Murcia at the age of 19. She continued her studies in Belgium, earning advanced diplomas in piano and chamber music at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles, as well as the “Meester in Muziek” diploma from the Koninklijk Conservatorium van Brussel. She further specialized in Lied accompaniment with Lucienne Van Dijck and Joseph de Beenhouwer at the Conservatoire d’Anvers and studied the fortepiano.

In London, she worked with Maria Curcio (professor at the Royal Academy of Music and disciple of the great pianist Arthur Schnabel), who played an important role in her artistic development. She has attended masterclasses with Gyorgy Sandor, J-Ph. Collard, F-R. Duchable, and Joaquin Achucarro, among others. She has won several prizes, including First Prize at the Isaac Albeniz Piano Competition, and prestigious scholarships from institutions such as the Escuela Reina Sofía, the Fundación Séneca, and the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As a soloist, she has performed with various symphony orchestras, including the Orchestre Symphonique de Murcia and the Orchestre de Chambre de Wallonie, in concertos by Mozart, Beethoven, Prokofiev, de Falla, and others. She has given numerous solo piano and chamber music recitals throughout Spain, Austria, Belgium, Italy, France, Turkey, and Mexico.

Caridad Galindo has performed at numerous international festivals in Belgium and abroad, including Festival Musique3, Festival van Vlaanderen, Klara Festival, Festival de l’Été Mosan, Festival de las Culturas de Granada, Festival PACT (supported by Martha Argerich), Nuit Musicale de Seneffe, Bozar, Studio 4 at Flagey, and the United Nations in Vienna. She has recorded for RNE (Radio Nacional de España), RTBF, and Radio Klara. A highly sought-after chamber music partner, she has developed an extensive activity in this field, particularly in duo with violinist Wibert Aerts, and also performing with singers such as Laure Delcampe and Stefan Van Dijk. She has collaborated with the ensemble Oxalys in El Amor Brujo by Manuel de Falla, one of the highlights of the Festival Musique3, recorded by RTBF. She is also a member of the ensemble Pianofolia. She is the artistic director of the “Encuentros Internacionales de Música Ciudad de Cieza,” an international summer festival featuring masterclasses and concerts in southern Spain. She is regularly invited as a collaborative pianist with the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra and in various masterclasses. Currently, she serves as a collaborative pianist at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles and teaches piano and fortepiano at the music academies of Woluwé-Saint-Lambert and the Institut Dalcroze in Brussels.
