Rich in two cultures, Belgian and Albanian, Marinela Doko experienced the school of the West after spending her youth in the East. As in any musician’s life shaped by decisive encounters, it was her first Albanian teacher, Bashkim Jaupi, who instilled in her taste, rigor, and passion, later further developed in Brussels under Didier Poskin, who guided her toward a new universe.
After obtaining her qualifications in her home country and then at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles, she has continuously performed as a soloist and chamber musician. From her first steps as a professional musician, joining the Jeunes Virtuoses de Tirana and the Albanian Radio Orchestra, she has responded to invitations from the most prestigious ensembles: Orchestre National de Belgique, Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, Brussels Philharmonic (Vlaams Radio Orkest), Namur Chamber Orchestra (founding member), which have taken her across Europe.
Since 2010, Marinela Doko has been teaching the cello at several Belgian institutions, the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles, the music academies of Waterloo and Woluwé Saint-Pierre, and the Conservatoire Balthasart Florence de Namur.
Her pedagogy emphasizes an open and progressive approach to the cello, aiming for excellence. Her personal and musical journey enables her to convey the values of learning that meet the demands of today’s musician: adapting and evolving continuously with methodology and creativity toward confident autonomy.
