Gabriel Diaconu

Biography

Gabriel Diaconu was born in Romania to musician parents. He was first introduced to the piano by his mother before entering the class of Alain Raës at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Lille at the age of nine. Alongside a scientific baccalaureate, he earned a Gold Medal and a Diplôme d’Études Musicales. He then continued his studies at the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles in the class of Evgeny Moguilevsky, with whom he obtained a Master with distinction. During his training, he also received guidance from Vladimir Soultanov, Olga Roumchevitch, Alexander Moguilevsky, Howard Shelley, Simone Perrier, Virginio Pavarana, Thierry Huillet, Claire Chevallier, André Siwy, Muhiddin Dürrüoglu-Demiriz, and others. During his studies, Gabriel maintained a strong interest in pedagogy. He shared his musical knowledge at several music schools in northern France as a piano teacher, solfège instructor, and accompanist. After completing his Master, this experience enabled him to obtain an agrégation in higher secondary education. During this training, he focused particularly on sight-reading and decided to specialize in accompaniment. In 2010, he joined the teaching staff of the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles as a piano accompanist for the violin, saxophone, clarinet, and percussion classes. Gabriel regularly accompanies the Brussels Choral Society, the Musiques Royales de la Défense, as well as national and international competitions.
