Julie Delbart began her musical studies at the age of four. After obtaining her First Prize in solfège at the age of fourteen at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles, she continued her piano studies there with leading figures of the musical world, including Dominique Cornil, Guy Danel, Marien Hallynck, Eliane Reyes, Muhiddin Dürrüoğlu-Demiriz, and Sergio Tiempo.
Julie has won numerous prizes and has been awarded several scholarships and distinctions: Fondation Horlait-Dapsens, Special Prize of the CRB, Scholarship of the City of Tournai, Scholarship of the Fondation Belge Vocatio – Promotion Raoul Servais, First Prize at the Conservatory Concerto Competition – across all disciplines, and the “Maurice Lefranc” Prize, awarded every two years to the pianist whose qualities suggest a brilliant artistic career.
After graduating with Highest Distinction in her Specialized Master’s degrees in solo piano, piano accompaniment, and teaching certification, she was appointed as an accompanist at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles upon completing her studies. Julie has been invited to perform in numerous concerts, productions, and festivals as a soloist, soloist with orchestra, and chamber musician in countries including Belgium, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, France, the United States, Great Britain, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Switzerland, China, Brazil, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Georgia, and Lithuania.
She has performed on stage alongside distinguished artists such as José Van Dam, Marie-Christine Barrault, and Bruno Coppens. A competition pianist, audition pianist, masterclass pianist, vocal coach, and orchestral pianist, she regularly collaborates in orchestral productions. La Monnaie has invited her to participate in various productions as celesta player, organist, or pianist within both the chamber orchestra and the symphony orchestra, under the baton of conductors including Alain Altinoglu, Michael Boder, Evelino Pidò, Patrick Davin, Ouri Bronchti, Franck Ollu, Bassem Akiki, Antonello Manacorda, Howard Moody, and Kazushi Ono.
She has also served as Assistant Musical Director and pianist for musical productions such as Cabaret, La mélodie du bonheur, Evita, Sunset Boulevard, My Fair Lady, Blood Brothers, Elisabeth, and West Side Story, as well as for musical theatre productions including Vous avez dit Broadway? and Une flûte enchantée.
Julie was appointed Musical Director and vocal coach for Andromaque by Racine, directed by Yves Beaunesne. She also appeared as pianist and Musical Director for L’abattoir de verre at the Théâtre des Martyrs in October and November 2024. In recent years, Julie has had the privilege of accompanying masterclasses given by leading artists such as Thomas Hampson, Sumi Jo, Stéphane Degout, Sophie Koch, and Nora Gubisch.
During the 2025/2026 season, she will appear on numerous stages and productions as a solo pianist and accompanist, Musical Director, and vocal coach. She will also serve as conductor for the musical Le Magicien d’Oz on a French-Belgian tour. Julie has been invited to perform before Their Majesties Queen Paola and King Albert, as well as before Their Majesties Queen Mathilde and King Philippe, and the President and First Lady of Lithuania during a state visit.
In September 2024, she became Professor of Vocal Piano Accompaniment at the Conservatoire Royal de Mons (Arts2). In 2023, Julie was named “Chevalière de la Tour” by her hometown of Tournai. Since March 2017, she has been a staff accompanist within the Voice Department of the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth, working alongside José Van Dam, Stéphane Degout, and Sophie Koch.
