Emmanuel Clacens holds degrees in Organ and Musical Pedagogy from the Institut Supérieur de Musique et de Pédagogie in Namur. He obtained Premier Prix in Solfège, Written Harmony, Practical Harmony, Organ, Counterpoint, and Music History. He continued his musical studies at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles, where he earned the higher diploma in organ, the higher diploma in solfège, and the Premier Prix in orchestral conducting, studying respectively with Hubert Schoonbroodt, Michel Lysight, and Robert Janssens. He also studied fugue and composition. He further refined his organ skills in master classes in Germany under the direction of Carlo Hommel from Luxembourg. As a soloist, he has performed in Germany, France, Spain, Canada, and South Africa. Since January 1994, he has been a professor of Musical Training at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles, and in May 2002, he became the titular organist of the Grand Organ at Saint Aubain Cathedral in Namur.
