Lisa Coppi is a dancer, performer, and teacher. Her movement practice lies at the intersection of contemporary dance, performance, and somatic practices. She views dance as a space that questions bodies and relationships: how they relate to each other, express themselves, listen, produce poetry, and transform our ways of working collectively.
Lisa Coppi trained in education at the Jaques-Dalcroze Rhythmics Institute, then at various dance centers in Brussels and Buenos Aires. This path led her to improvisation practices, the exploration of internal movement—particularly fascia—and somatic approaches (including Fascia & Dance training with Anja Röttgerkamp at the BodyMind Academy). These practices now feed into her research and creative work.
She regularly collaborates with other artists and collectives and presents her work at various venues and festivals in Belgium and abroad (Charleroi Danse, CC Wolubilis, EKLA Art Center, Théâtre Monty, Spazio Opposto, etc.).
Alongside her artistic work, she is deeply interested in questions of teaching methodology and approaches to supporting learning. She currently teaches at the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles and works in various contexts in Belgium and abroad (Universidad Nacional de las Artes Dramáticas de Buenos Aires, Humanités Artistiques, cultural centers, music academies, etc.).
Her teaching focuses mainly on improvisation, somatic practices, and instantaneous composition. She develops a collective approach based on sharing localized knowledge and paying attention to what passes through bodies and minds. Challenging, doubting, feeling, and rejoicing are all part of the work.
For several years, Lisa Coppi has also been conducting research into the links between education, art and care, through conferences, seminars, community involvement, and projects dedicated to feminist education and approaches to care.
