Corinna Lardin

Biography

A cellist originally from Berlin, Corinna Lardin studied with Chr. Henkel in Freiburg, with A. Noras in Helsinki and with J. Goritzki in Düsseldorf. Passionate about chamber music, she took part in masterclasses with J. Michels, F. Galimir, B. Canino and S. Palm, and attended courses with the Amadeus Quartet. During her studies, she was a member of the student orchestra Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and the contemporary music ensemble Aventure in Freiburg.

In 1991, she became a member of the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker, and since 1995 she has been principal cellist with the La Monnaie Orchestra. Alongside her work with the orchestra, she continues to devote herself to chamber music, first with the Rideau Rouge string quartet and, since 2011, with the cello octet Ô-Celli. She regularly transcribes pieces for this ensemble. Eager to pass on her passion and experience as an orchestral musician, she coaches students as part of the orchestra's academy. Since 2021, she has been teaching orchestral reading and orchestral techniques at the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles.
