Japanese saxophonist Asagi ITO, trained at Tokyo University of the Arts and then at the CNSMD in Paris under Claude Delangle, has distinguished herself in several international competitions, including the Jean-Marie Londeix Competition (4th prize), the Adolphe Sax International Competition, the Japanese Wind Instrument Competition (2nd prize), and the Paris Saxophone Competition (1st prize).
Highly sought after as an orchestral saxophonist, she performs with a wide range of European and Asian ensembles, including: Brussels Philharmonic, Orchestre National de Belgique, La Monnaie Symphony Orchestra, Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, Ictus Ensemble, Ensemble Spectra, Ensemble Modern, L’Orchestre du CNSMDP, as well as Japanese orchestras Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra, Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, Hyogo PAC Orchestra, Geidai Philharmonic Orchestra, among others.
She currently teaches at the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles as assistant saxophone teacher, as well as at the Woluwe-Saint-Pierre Academy and Kunsthumaniora Brussel.
