Graduated from the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth, holder of First Prizes and Advanced Diplomas in Piano (in the class of Dalia Ouziel) and Chamber Music at the Conservatoire Royal de Mons, Pierre Feraux also perfected his skills at the Royal College of Music in London under the guidance of pianist Yonty Solomon, a disciple of Dame Myra Hess.
He has participated in several masterclasses in piano with Abdel Rahman El Bacha, Emmanuel Ax, Murray Perahia, Bernard Roberts, Pascal Sigrist, Claude Coppens, Helmut Deutsch, and Evelyne Brancart, as well as in chamber music with Serge Collot and Xavier Gagnepain.
As a pianist, he has received numerous awards and distinctions: First Prize of the Andrée Charlier Piano Competition, First Prize of the Pro Civitate Competition (Belfius Classics), First Prize of the Excellentia Competition, and Laureate of the JMusiciens Competition. He has also been awarded scholarships from the Fondation Nany Philippart and the Thirionet Fund.
Pierre Feraux is active both as a soloist and in chamber music and is regularly invited to perform at music festivals in Belgium (Palais des Beaux-Arts, Flagey, Conservatoire Royal, etc.) as well as abroad, including France, Luxembourg, England, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Serbia-Montenegro, and Brazil. He is notably an active member of the Ensemble Mendelssohn.
His public recordings include radio broadcasts of recitals on RTBF/Musiq3, France Musique, Klara, and Globo (Brazil). His solo performances include Tchaikovsky’s First Concerto with the Orchestre National de Belgique under the direction of Pierre Bartholomée, Webern’s Konzert with the RCM Ensemble (London), Liszt’s Second Concerto with the Mittelsächsische Philharmonie (Germany) under Peter Gülke, as well as Francisco Mignone’s Festas das Igrajas, performed in Brasília.
As an official accompanist for multiple national and international competitions, Pierre Feraux currently serves as a piano accompanist at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles. He has also given piano masterclasses on several occasions at the International Music Academy meetings in Dinant, as well as at the Curso Internacional de Verão in Brasília, Brazil.
His discography covers major works of the piano repertoire. For his two most recent recordings dedicated to Brazilian piano music, Brasileiro, and to 101 Etudes, he was awarded the distinction of “Namurois de l’année.”
