Coming from a family of musicians, Bernard Woltèche began his studies in law. He obtained a "Soloist Diploma" at the Zwolle Conservatory (Netherlands). He regularly collaborates with the ensembles BachPlus, Il Gardellino, les Agrémens, B'Rock...
In addition to these activities, Bernard also performs solo and in chamber ensembles. He is a member of the Woltèche ensemble. He is also a member of Laterna Magica, with whom he has recorded and toured extensively (South America, Korea, China) and whose second CD is devoted to transcriptions of Handel's operas.
Since 1994, Bernard has been the first cello of the Collegium ad Mosam ensemble. Until December 2017, he is the artistic co-director.
He is currently Artistic Director of the Silbermann Ensemble, one of its main objectives being to hire newly graduated students and provide them with additional on-the-job training alongside experienced musicians.
Bernard holds a chamber music class in the early music department of Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles. In this context, he first created the "Studio de Musique baroque" and then the "Collegium Musicum", which is regularly invited to major festivals such as the Automne musical de Spa (B), Embaroquement immédiat (FR), Barockfestival Sittard (NL), Mubafa (B).
He teaches cello, baroque cello and instrumental ensemble at the Académie de Woluwé-saint-Lambert.
