Belgian and Lebanese music at the turn of the 20th century

12 mars 2027 12:30

This concert sets out to explore musical exchanges between East and West through a programme dedicated to the Belgian composer and avid musical traveller Gaston Knosp, as well as to several Lebanese composers, such as Wadia Sabra, Toufic Succar and Georges Farah.
Drawing in particular on the Gaston Knosp collection held in the Conservatoire’s library, this programme highlights the phenomenon of the circulation and mutual appropriation of musical languages. This is not merely a matter of influences, but a genuine aesthetic dialogue, in which each tradition adapts, transforms and enriches itself through contact with the other.
