After exploring England and France, the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles Collegium Musicum ventures into the forests and wastelands of 17th-century Saxony with its ‘Pilgrimages’ programme. We explore the composers who influenced the young Johann Sebastian Bach. We will take up our pilgrim's staff and, as Bach himself did in his time, we will go in search of some of the ‘ancestors’ who helped forge his very personal style. Buxtehude, Bruhns, Weckmann and, of course, Johann Sebastian Bach will take centre stage.
