Classical and Contemporary Music
Organ Class Concert #2
March 20 2027 15:15
The Église des Carmes is an iconic venue for organ music in Brussels, closely linked to the history of the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles. Joseph Jongen, director of the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles between 1925 and 1939, worked there regularly. The greatest names in organ music have performed there in memorable concerts. The first complete performance of Messiaen’s organ works was given there to mark the composer’s 80th birthday. The Conservatoire’s organ class is warmly welcomed there every year. This concert will feature important works from the French Romantic and symphonic traditions.
