Requiem in C minor "In memory of Louis XVI

In 1816, Louis XVIII commissioned this work from the superintendent of his chapel, Luigi Cherubini. Immediately considered a summit of religious music, this requiem inspired many composers such as Berlioz, Brahms and Verdi. Cherubini having dispensed with vocal soloists, the work is limited to a mixed choir: the Conservatoire's student choir is accompanied by Philippe Navarre on the piano and conducted by the students of the choral conducting class.
