Érik Satie (1866-1925), works for electric guitars? This is the musical variation or transformation proposed by Pierrejean Gaucher for Ars Musica in 2024. This masterclass will be an opportunity for students to (re)discover the unique musical aesthetic of Érik Satie, who was already laying the foundations for the music they play today. Then they will see how the vocabulary common to all music (melody, rhythm, harmony) can be transposed from one aesthetic to another (in this case to jazz and contemporary music) while retaining the specific features of the original work.
