Everything you’ve always wanted to know about brass instruments … but were afraid to ask!

By Philippe Givron and Penta Brass

A lecture-concert to shed light on the unique characteristics of brass instruments – instruments that shine yet remain, at heart, so little understood. You’ll discover their history, technique and acoustics, as well as their role in this chamber ensemble, which is still far too little known.

What better way to do this than a guided journey through the repertoire of the brass quintet?

To bring this exploration to life, Penta Brass will be coming to meet you. The ensemble brings together Françoise Pauly and Benoît Hubert (trumpets), Philippe Givron (horn), Gregory Miette (trombone) and Christophe Tossens (tuba) – the key members of the orchestra’s brass section.

Explanations and a variety of musical pieces will alternate, and all your questions are welcome. In short, it’s sure to delight your ears and fully satisfy your curiosity.
