‘The Other Wieniawski’ offers a fresh look at the work of Józef Wieniawski, pianist, composer and teacher, and brother of the famous Henryk. Conceived by Zofia Lalak, the programme brings together chamber music works performed with the participation of students from the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels, as well as a piano recital given by the pianist herself.

Zofia Lalak will also host the concert and share the findings of her research into the Wieniawski collection at the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels, held at the Royal Library of Belgium (KBR). This fusion of music and research brings Józef Wieniawski’s artistic world back to life and highlights his close ties with Brussels, where he lived and taught for the last thirty years of his life.

The project was carried out with the support of a grant from the Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
