A concert in two parts, each featuring a different vocal ensemble:

1 – The Friday jazz choir class, accompanied by a rhythm section (piano, guitar, bass, drums, percussion) and a horn section (trumpet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, trombone). The repertoire will consist of ‘groove’ pieces on which we have been focusing: gospel, Motown, reggae and South African choral music. The soloists will be the jazz singers.
2 – The jazz vocal group with a jazz rhythm section and instrumental soloists. The repertoire will include arrangements of jazz standards, a few ‘Vocalese’ pieces and contemporary jazz tracks, notably by Ralph Towner and Kenny Wheeler.
