Edith and Charles
February 10 2026 19:00
In 1946, Charles Aznavour was 22 years old and enjoying a modicum of fame. Luck smiled on him when he finally met her at a radio concert: he was on the programme, Trenet and Piaf were in the front row, and she motioned for the young man to follow her home. Piaf and Aznavour quickly understood each other, bound together by a shared past of bal-musette and street life. Until 1950, Aznavour followed in Piaf's footsteps. This recital features some of the most beautiful songs by these two giants of French music, including ‘Plus bleu que le bleu de tes yeux’, written by Charles Aznavour for Edith Piaf.
