I was looking at the ceiling and then I saw the sky

Probably the flagship event of this season...

November 9 2018 20:30 > November 13 2018 20:30

Los Angeles 1994: 7 people see the course of their lives irrevocably changed by the earthquake. A juvenile delinquent, a South American mother, a lawyer, a journalist, a policeman, a family planning worker and a preacher.
A cross between an opera and a Broadway musical, with music by American composer John Adams and libretto by poet June Jordan, this “song play” had not yet been performed in Belgium. However, Marianne Pousseur and Enrico Bagnoli had thought of it at the time of the Paris terrorist attacks and they decided to produce it using young singers and musicians, students at the Brussels Conservatory but coming from two sections usually considered incompatible – classical and jazz.
Wanting to be inclusive, the show is meant to create connections and to inspire a melding and a blending, that it be between musical genres, between generations or between young professionals and more mature artists.
