Prize amount
1000 euros (incentive prizes: 500 euros and 250 euros)
An incentive prize of 125 euros may be awarded to the Belgian candidate who has shown special merit during the competition.

Participation requirements
Being laureate of Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles with a Master degree in violin in the last three years
Being student with a Master degree in violinen violon and not have exceeded the age of 30 at the time of the competition

Program

  • A compulsory work designated one month before the competition date
  • A major work of the candidate's choiceUne œuvre de Bach pour violon, la chacon ou l'une des trois fugues
  • Repertoire of six important works, including
    I a concerto by Vieuxtemps for the violin
    I a sonata from the 17th or 18th century

The program must be run from memory.

The competitors must provide piano accompaniment for the works presented.
If the number of competitors exceeds five, a preliminary elimination test may be organised.
Within three months of the announcement, the winner of the competition must give a recital in the main hall of the Royal Conservatory in Brussels. Half of the net proceeds from the sale of the tickets are given to the performer and the other half to a charitable organisation attached to the Conservatory.
