Arthur De Greef 2021 Grand Prize (piano)

Prize amount
2,500 euros, if the jury deems it appropriate.
Two incentive prizes of 625 euros each could be awarded.

Participation requirements
Bachelor graduates (degree from one of the Belgian royal conservatories) whose age is not over 30 at the time of the competition.

Programme

  • A piece of J.S. Bach to choose among toccatas, fantasies, concertos in Italian style, partitas and suites
  • An etude choosen by the candidate among those of Chopin, Liszt, Debussy, Scriabin, Bartok, Stravinsky
  • Sonata op. 7 in E major of Grieg, dedicated to Arthur De Greef
  • Concerto in C minor by Arthur De Greef, dedicated to Saint-Saëns (the competitor must provide piano accompaniment)

The Jury of the competition is composed of the Director of Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles as President and 4 members, including 3 chosen among the renowned Belgian artists.
The jury members will appreciate the singers who play memory.
